Long term recurrence of solitary fibrous tumor involving vertebral body in thoracic spine. A case report

•In literature, there are eight cases of SFT with involvement of a vertebral body.•With the finding of CD34 and STAT6, the histological diagnosis became less vague.•Only one case of spinal SFT with distant metastasis is reported in literature.•SFTs are known for a late recurrence with a median time of 12 years.
