摘要

•Bismuthene quantum dots (Bi-QDs) were fabricated by the LPE method.•Bi-QDs possessed large nonlinear optical properties in NIR region.•Bi-QDs SA Q-switched lasers can produce the minimum pulse duration of 150 ns.•Absorption cross sections of Bi-QDs were investigated for the first time.•The influence of trap state lifetime on the pulse generation was numerically simulated.
