Unconventional M-MIMO Phased Array Design for 5G Wireless Systems

摘要
In this work unconventional phased array architectures design methodologies are presented for 5G massive multiple-input- multiple-output applications, focusing on clustered arrays with modularity constraints. Analytic- based techniques for the optimization of the tiling configuration and of the excitations coefficients, as well as capacity-oriented design methods for clustered array are briefly described, together with illustrative numerical examples proving the effectiveness of the proposed schemes when dealing with simple domino-like shaped sub-arrays.
