Organotin Phosphates Assembled from a Sterically Hindered Organophosphate, ArOP(O)(OH)2, (Ar = 2,6-(CHPh2)2-4-i-Pr-C6H2): Syntheses and Structures

Organotin phosphates [(n-Bu2Sn)(2)(LH)(2)(O2NO)(2)] (1), [(Me3SnLH)(2)(Me3Sn(Cl) LH2)(2)]center dot(LH)(2)center dot 8CH(3)OH (2), [(Me3Sn)(8)(L)(4)-(OH2)(4)]center dot 2CH(3)CN (3), and [Me3Sn(LH)](n)center dot nCH(3)OH (4) were prepared at room temperature by the reaction of a sterically hindered ligand, 2,6-dibenzhydry1-4-isopropylphenyl dihydrogen phosphate (LH2), with various organotin starting materials. Both molecular compounds [1 (dinuclear), 2 (tetranuclear), 3 (octanuclear)] and a one-dimensional coordination polymer (4) were isolated. The single crystal X-ray diffraction studies on these compounds revealed significant supramolecular interactions in their solid state mediated through a variety of secondary interactions including CH-pi interactions.
