•This is the first study to elucidate the relationship between IAAs and ICH.•IAAs, a PPAR-g agonist, could improve hematoma resolution and the outcome of ICH rats.•M2 microglial transformation was due to the activation of PPAR-γ-CD 36 axis by IAAs.
