•Fully dense FeCoCrNi-Mo alloys have been prepared by two sintering processes.•Mechanical alloying of alloy powders can improve the sintering activity.•Multiple structures precipitated in vacuum hot-pressed sintering samples.•Vacuum hot-pressed samples exhibited a superior hardness and wear resistance.•Spark plasma sintering can realize rapid low-temperature sintering for the alloys.
