Enhanced cork-boiling wastewater treatment by electro-assisted processes

•Electroassisted processes are efficient for cork-boiling wastewater treatment.•High TOC, COD and phenolics removal are reached in both processes.•Biodegrable effluents are obtained after both treatments.•Electro-Fenton combines coagulation and oxidation in a faster process.•Electrocoagulation as pretreatment reduces the operating cost of the Fenton process.
