•High resolution full frame photography is used to establish panoramic photo of the experimental advanced superconducting tokamak.•The virtual EAST panoramic roaming system for VR boxes and VR integrated machine is realized.•Interactive functions is added to the system for users to interact with scenarios using hotspots.
