Study on Overflow Characteristics and Measurement System of UHVDC Grounding Pole

The leaked DC current on the grounding pole could cause a huge loss to the power equipment, etc. What’s more, the leakage current is difficult to measure directly. However, the current research has not yet had a good measurement of the current in the ground. In order to monitor the distribution of surface current near the grounding pole. Firstly, this paper constructed a calculation model for the distribution law of ground current of the straight-line grounding pole under the monolayer soil model, and the cross-shaped grounding pole under the mixed soil model, then obtained the current density between 0-50A/m2. Secondly, design and develop the grounding current distribution measurement system based on electromagnetic induction and wireless communication principle. This system is capable of capturing and measuring weak current in the ground, and it can transmit current data by GSM. Finally, the grounding environment simulation platform was built and the practicality of the measurement system was measured and verified.
