A Phased Array Composed Of Dipole With Semicircular Ring For 5g

A phased array is designed for 5G mobile communication system. Semicircular ring is added into dipole element of the array to increase current path and reduce the size of the antenna; and its bandwidth is 4.2 GHz covering 26.2-30.4 GHz. The simulated S11 of antenna element is less than -42 dB at 28 GHz. This array is composed of 8 elements, it can realize beam scanning from 0 degrees to 40 degrees, and the fluctuation of antenna gain is less than 3 dB. Simulated results show the antenna element with good impedance matching, as well as the antenna array with very good scanning characteristics.
