摘要
•We review mathematical and conceptual models of vertebrate chondrogenic pattern formation from the last 50 years.•The last several years have seen the publication of new models based on substantially improved knowledge of the relevant gene regulatory networks, in particular Raspopovic et al.s BSW model (2014), Badugu et al.s model (2012) and Glimm et al.s galectin model (2014)•We include a list of gene products that are relevant to mathematical models of chondrogenic pattern formation in the limb.
