The Effect of Microvessel Density (MVD) in The Survival of Patients With Thyroid Carcinoma: A Meta-Analysis

Background: Thyroid cancer is regarded as one of the most common endocrine tumor. Angiogenesis is considered as an important step of the malignancy progression and metastatic potential. Microvessel density (MVD), has been introduced as a direct quantification method of tumor vascularization. Currently, several studies examined the correlation between MVD and thyroid cancer, with inconclusive results. The aim of the present study was to appraise the effect of tumoral MVD on the survival of patients with thyroid cancer.
