The use of a new explanatory methodology to assess maturity and ripening indices for kiwiberry (Actinidia arguta): Preliminary results

•New A. arguta harvesting indexes are proposed.•Colorimetric indexes enhance sensitiveness of colour transition during harvesting.•Colorimetric indexes can be potentially thought as a multi-cultivar harvesting index.•Multivariate tools deal with composite indexes, with more accurate results.
