•Increasing of dissolved hydrogen showed no obvious effect on low-cycle fatigue life.•Increasing of dissolved hydrogen had no effect on degree of dynamic strain aging.•Hydrogen uptake slightly increased with increasing dissolved hydrogen level.•Increasing of dissolved hydrogen had no effect on composition of oxide film.
