Elasto-optical correction of bend loss for Ge-free fibers with large-effective-area and ultra-low-loss

•We evaluated the elasto-optical correction for three different types of Ge-free fibers.•A convincing resemblance between experimental measurements and calculated results of macro-bend losses over the C + L-bands was achieved.•We have found that the value of elasto-optical correction for Ge-free fibers is mainly affected by the F-doped region in the core, the low index trench in the cladding, and the concentration of F in the outmost cladding.
