Associations between local land use/land cover and place-based landscape service patterns in rural Tanzania

•We examine associations between landscape and service structure in 3 rural villages.•Services are associated with specific landscape structures.•Similarities and uniqueness exist in the association patterns between villages.•Results are consistent with landscape service studies in the Global South.•LULC patterns work as a proxy for landscape service patterns at broader scale.
