The case is of a baby born at 30 weeks through vaginal delivery with a birth weight of 1508 g and an Apgar score of 9/9. Prematurity was related to maternal urinary infection. Prenatal care was adequate. A peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) was inserted on the third day of life (DOL) in the left saphenous vein, and the radiographic control suggested the central position of the tip at the height of the left iliac vein.
