Electromagnetic Field Analysis and Calculation of Voice Coil Motor with a Concentrated Magnetic Structure

This paper investigates a concentrated magnetic structure voice coil motor (VCM). The influences of parameters in magnetic circuit to the performance are investigated by finite element analysis. The methods for increasing thrust and improving smoothness of force-displacement curves are proposed. A prototype is fabricated and performance experiment indicates that there is a good agreement between the experimental and the calculated results.
