Comparison of complementary and alternative medicine use between patients with skin cancer and inflammatory skin diseases

More than half of patients with melanoma use complementary and alternative medicine (CAM)(1). The same trend has been observed for patients with psoriasis(2) and hidradenitis suppurativa(3). However, it is not known whether all patients with skin disease use the same CAM methods. We conducted an anonymous survey to compare the prevalence and type of CAM use among inpatients with skin cancer and inflammatory skin disease (ISD) in a dermatology department.
