摘要

•Spry4 expression was regulated during osteogenesis and adipogenesis.•SPRY4 inhibits osteogenic commitment and stimulates adipogenic differentiation in vitro and in vivo.•SPRY4 antagonizes the activity of ERK1/2, and thereby further inactivates canonical Wnt signaling.•Wnt/β-catenin transcriptionally inhibits Spry4 expression.•SPRY4, ERK1/2 and Wnt/β-catenin form a feedback loop to regulate osteogenic and adipogenic differentiation of MSCs.
