Radiofrequency echographic multi spectrometry for the prediction of incident fragility fractures: A 5-year follow-up study.

•Results of a prospective study on REMS T-score effectiveness to identify patients at risk for fractures are presented.•DXA and REMS T-score values were highly correlated and the two diagnostic techniques showed a significant agreement.•The sensitivity and specificity of REMS in the identification of incident fragility fractures were very close to DXA ones.•AUC-ROC Curve for REMS T-score was 0.66, indicating a good discrimination between fractured and non-fractured patients.•REMS T-score resulted an effective predictor of the occurrence of incident fragility fractures in a female population.
