The expression of copper transporters associated with the ototoxicity induced by platinum-based chemotherapeutic agents.

•Hearing impairment after platinum drugs chemotherapy seriously affects people’s quality of life.•HEI-OC1 cells showed positivity for the expression of CTR1, ATP7A and ATP7B.•The highest cellular uptake was obtained for Cisplatin, which was also the most cytotoxic.•The modulation of copper transporters expression locally could prevent ototoxicity of platinum drugs.
