摘要

•Ophryocystis elektroscirrha was detected in Lepidoptera other than the genus Danaus.•O. elektroscirrha showed a higher host specificity in D. plexippus and lower host specificity in Helicoverpa armigera.•Geographic variation was found in susceptibility of H. armigera populations to O. elektroscirrha.
