Similarities and differences in the effects of sensitisation and challenge with Dermatophagoides farinae and Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus extracts in a murine asthma surrogate

•We present a comparison of the effects of Dermatophagoides farinae and Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus in a murine asthma surrogate.•Mice challenged with Der f showed significantly poorer lung tissue elasticity and higher MMP9 and MMP12 expression.•Mice challenged with Der p showed significantly higher corticosteroid-resistant related cytokines and neutrophil infiltration.
