Improvement of lithium ion storage in titanium dioxide nanowires by introducing interfacial capacity

Developing Li-ion storage with high rate capability and long cycling life is indispensable for applications where fast charge/discharge is required. To achieve this goal, interfacial pesudocapacitance is introduced by doping TiO2 nanowire with N and S, which have been obtained after annealing process in the presence of thiourea. As a result, a high reversible capacity and ultra-long cycling stability is achieved. Moreover, a hybrid lithium-ion capacitor (LIC) is assembled and it is able to deliver an energy density of 45.2 Wh kg(-1) at a power density of 175 W kg(-1).
