Taiwanese Rainfall Variability associated with Large-scale Climate Phenomena

•Teleconnection between climate indices and midlatitude rainfall was detected.•Significant patterns were detected based on empirical orthogonal teleconnection.•CI-rainfall relationships show significant positive and negative correlations.•Predictability for EOTs by SST was demonstrated through regression mapping.
