Interpretation of the ASPIS Iron 88 programme with TRIPOLI-4® and quantification of uncertainties due to nuclear data

•The ASPIS Iron-88 neutron shielding experiment is interpreted with a stochastic code.•Several up-to-date nuclear data libraries for iron were used.•Discrepancies between these nuclear data libraries are highlighted and explained.•A sensitivity analysis is added in order to understand the observed discrepancies.•Uncertainties to nuclear data are computed.•All biases are in 2 experimental standard deviations except for the sulphur detector.
