Immunogenetics of marsupial B-cells

•The development of B-cells in marsupials has been reported and hypothesised to be similar to eutherians.•We discuss marsupial B-cell development, differentiation, regulation and function and compare it to eutherian B-cells.•Enhancing our understanding of B-cells and B-cell genes in marsupials will increase knowledge of the marsupial immune system.
