Associations of SRD5A1 gene variants and testosterone with dysglycemia: Henan Rural Cohort study.

•SRD5A1 rs1691053 gene polymorphism was independently associated with glycometabolism.•A positive association was observed in males while it suggested a negative association in females.•The interaction between a genetic polymorphism from SRD5A1 and testosterone involved glycometabolism was identified in males.
