Enhanced EEG-EMG coherence analysis based on hand movements.

•An approach of preprocessing EEG signal is proposed for EEG-EMG coherence enhancement.•EEG signal are preprocessed mainly based on the synchronous EMG burst points.•Regardless of wavelet coherence or MSC, the proposed method enhances EEG-EMG coherence.•Using the enhanced coherence coefficients to classify hand movements improves accuracy rate.
