摘要
•A novel method of bluish-violet pigments by VBTL and amino acids was proposed.•Two iridoids and chlorogenic acid were main components in VBTL pigment substrates.•Gly, Ile and Gln were screened as efficient substrates for producing pigments.•Bluish-violet pigment showed good thermal and acidic stability (pH 4–6).•This bluish-violet pigment showed potential application in acidic dyeing systems.
