摘要
Terahertz frequency vibrations exhibit characteristics that can be related to mechanical elastic parameters and yield insight into bulk physical properties. Through a combination of experimental low-frequency spectroscopy and solid-state density functional theory, specific vibrations can be used to determine elastic moduli. Applying this technique to a small metal-organic system, copper (11) acetylacetonate, provides new understanding of its unusual elastic behavior.
