Unsupervised automatic online spike sorting using reward-based online clustering

•The novel method is Reward Based Online Clustering.•A modified method for feature extraction called Aligned First Derivative with just two features is proposed.•The graphical results for experimental data obtained from rat brain approve the efficiency of the proposed method.•In comparison to the other similar works the proposed method has more accurate clustering results.
