Lack of association of SCN2A rs17183814 polymorphism with the efficacy of lamotrigine monotherapy in patients with focal epilepsy from Herzegovina area, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

•There is no association between SCN2A rs17183814 gene polymorphism and epilepsy susceptibility.•There is no difference in gender structure and the mean age of seizure onset between responders and non-responders.•SCN2A rs17183814 gene polymorphism does not affect the efficiency of lamotrigine.
