摘要
•Slippery, rough and vibrating tactile stimuli were produced using custom-made dot pattern surfaces.•The tactile perception is clearly related to specific dots’ geometric features and distribution over the surface.•The roughness of the surface is linearly related to the diameters of dots.•Slippery surfaces are largely preferred to rough and vibrating surfaces.•Vibrating surfaces evoke both positive and negative levels of appreciation.
