Thermal Ablation for Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma in Cirrhosis: Safety and Efficacy in Non-Surgical Patients.

Thermal ablation is a safe and effective treatment for ICC in patients with cirrhosis who are not candidates for surgery. The OS is similar to that reported in surgical series, but the initial treatment success is hampered by a high rate of tumor recurrence. Encouraging long-term survival after thermal ablation is achieved in patients with single ≤ 2-cm ICC.
