摘要
This paper presents a study on non-invasive radiation pattern characterisations of an ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna for integration into an antenna-on-vehicle platform for collision avoidance applications. The operational frequency range of the UWB antenna under test (AUT) is 3.5 GHz to 10 GHz. A comparison was made between its radiation profiles at 6.49 GHz while standalone, mounted on a metallic housing and with a pseudo-real vehicle ground platform. All measurements are made in an anechoic chamber. A non-invasive opto-electric field sensor system was employed to minimise distortion of the antenna pattern. The results show that the effects on the antenna radiation pattern due to proximity of the vehicle platform is far from trivial.
