How Well Can a Large Number of Polysomnography Sleep Measures Predict Subjective Sleep Quality in Insomnia Patients

•The determinants of sleep quality (sQUAL) are poorly understood.•We evaluated prediction of sQUAL by polysomnography measures in insomnia patients.•Data from over 2000 insomnia patients in 2 drug development programs were analyzed.•Polysomnography variables had a moderate pattern of association with sQUAL.•Of the variables evaluated, total sleep time was the best predictor of sQUAL.
