Seasonality of leaf area index and photosynthetic capacity for better estimation of carbon and water fluxes in evergreen conifer forests

•GPP and ET simulations in ENF can benefit from correcting the seasonality of RS LAI.•A scheme was applied to downscale MTCI to represent seasonal leaf-level chlorophyll.•Joint incorporations of both correct seasonality of LAI and Vcmax in TBMs are essential for carbon and water flux estimation.
