Impact of different control strategies of perforated curved louvers on the visual comfort and energy consumption of office buildings in different climates

•Control strategies applied to movable perforated louvers in different climates are studied.•Different control strategies applied to movable louvers always allow visual comfort.•Alongside office users visual comfort, it is possible to minimize energy consumption.•In some cases, fixed perforated louvers may perform better than movable louvers.•The simplest control strategies to implement are those which requires no sensors.
