Availability and quality of published data on the purine content of foods, alcoholic beverages, and dietary supplements

摘要
•Purine values in 298 foods/19 food groups, 15 alcoholic beverages, and 13 dietary supplements were reported.•Purine was highest in animal-based products (aside from dairy and egg products) and beer.•Purine was lowest in dairy and egg products, fruits, and sweets.•Mean adenine content was highest in organ products, while mean hypoxanthine content was highest in the soups and sauces.•Purine data in published literature were limited in scope, food descriptions, and quality.
