Microfluidic chip system integrated with light addressable potentiometric sensor (LAPS) for real-time extracellular acidification detection

•A simple structure, stable, sensitive, non-invasive microfluidic system integrated with LAPS was developed.•This integrated sensor system has been applied for real-time extracellular acidification detection.•Medium and drug were delivered to cell chamber automatically and the bubble trap could avoid the interference of bubbles.•The extracellular acidification were detected and drug effects were assessed using extra glucose and doxorubicin.
