摘要
•What is the primary question addressed by this study? How can evidence-based collaborative care models improve the quality of dementia care provided in a primary care setting?•What is the main finding of this study? These models, taken together, show evidence of increased adherence to dementia care guidelines and quality indicators, including improved health outcomes and quality of life, decreased caregiver burden, and cost-savings when compared to standard-of-care models.•What is the meaning of the finding? As the population ages, promising evidence from collaborative dementia care models implemented across various healthcare systems indicates a valuable opportunity for wide-scale quality improvement of dementia care; this will require system-wide support and cooperation to adapt the current healthcare infrastructure around these models.
