摘要
•Cu embedded into Sn nanoparticles heterogeneous bimetallic catalyst was designed.•The catalyst exhibits highly efficiency for CO2 electrochemical reduction to formate.•The catalyst’ electronic regulation facilitates the formation of key intermediate HCOO.•The intermediates and the reaction pathway of CO2 reduction were explored by In-situ Raman spectroscopy and DFT.
