摘要

•The enhanced PMS activation was accomplished by coupling z-nZVI with WMF.•The working pH range of z-nZVI/PMS/WMF was extended compared with z-nZVI/PMS process.•The origin of O2− was proved to be the reaction of Fe0 with PMS rather than the diffusion of O2.•The z-nZVI/PMS/WMF process is more promising and cost-effective for wastewater treatment.
