Abstract
•Plasmonic effect is introduced in solar thermal areas to enhance light absorption.•A plasmonic blended nanofluid is proposed and a broadband absorption is obtained.•A heat transfer model coupled with RTE is established to verify experimental results.•The simulation results are consistent with the experimental results.•A match between extinction spectrum and solar spectrum contribute to temperature rise.
