Induction of pluripotency in mammalian fibroblasts by cell fusion with mouse embryonic stem cells.

•Mouse embryonic stem cells were fused with mammalian fibroblasts of 8 species.•After cell fusion, morphologically two types cells were appeared; fibroblasts and naive stem cells.•Expression of pluripotent marker genes originated from fibroblasts were detected in fused cell with naive stem cell colony.•This experimental model could apply the establishment of reprogrammed pluripotent stem cells in various mammalian species.
