Prenatal phenol and paraben exposures in relation to child neurodevelopment including autism spectrum disorders in the MARBLES study.

•First study of mixtures of pregnancy phenol and paraben urinary metabolites relative to autism spectrum disorder (ASD).•Maternal phenols/parabens were significantly higher for nontypically developed children; suggestively for children with ASD.•Mixtures approach is preferred method for evaluating risks in relation to mixtures due to complex exposure correlations.
