Cyclocurcumin from Curcuma longa selectively inhibits shear stress-induced platelet aggregation

•Curcuma longa extract inhibits shear stress-induced platelet aggregation (SIPA).•Cyclocurcumin significantly suppresses SIPA and thrombus formation.•Cyclocurcumin inhibits platelet activation depending on shear stress.•Cyclocurcmin modulates vWF and platelet GP Ib interaction in high shear stress.•Cyclocurcumin does not affect on platelet cytotoxicity nor blood clotting time.
