摘要
•This study is one of the largest single joint design retrieval analysis reviews undertaken.•This is only the third paper to provide in-vivo wear rates for well aligned metal on metal bearings.•The link between wear and bearing clearance provides evidence that backs up the in-vitro testing results and many manufacturers’ design justification.•The study highlights an issue with positive taper clearance angles on taper performance.
